The Client
Jenton International are a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of cutting-edge packaging automation machinery and equipment. They supply food pack convergers, stackers, seal testers and bespoke automation pieces to the food industry, as well as UV disinfection machinery to treat foodstuffs, prolonging shelf life and reducing waste. Jenton International’s sister company Dimaco manufacture advanced label verification systems for the food industry.

The Challenge
Sales in the packaging machinery industry rely heavily on face-to-face exposure and interaction with customers and the equipment, usually achieved by visiting customers directly or attending trade shows and exhibitions. With such a diverse product range and regularly designing and building bespoke machines, it’s not always possible to show customers the real machines.
Add to that the limited spaces and expense involved with trade shows, companies can’t always bring their full fleet of demonstrator machines. Jenton have therefore decided to miniaturise their machinery range to make showing it off easier!
Enter….3Defined
Working closely with the Mechanical Design Engineers at Jenton, 3Defined took the existing 3D CAD models and adapted them to suit the 3D printing process, breaking them down into suitably sized parts that could be printed and then re-assembled.
The component parts were printed exclusively in PLA, painted in the correct colours and assembled to create stunning replicas of the real machines. As much detail was captured as possible, with some of the models even featuring moving parts like the real thing.
The result
Three models were initially commissioned by Jenton:
Jenton BCS570 Converger
Jenton UV Disinfection Conveyor
Jenton Dimaco Pack Verification Conveyor
These models will be proudly displayed at various trade shows and exhibitions on the Jenton Stand in 2019, as well as being used in customer meetings to improve engagement and highlight the unique selling features.
